Home physiotherapy sessions are reserved for patients who are unable to move about due to their state of health.
A doctor’s prescription detailing the need for home treatment is required. In addition, the prescription must specify the type of treatment, the number of sessions, their frequency (if necessary), and the treatment prescribed.
Foreign prescriptions must be written in French, German or English and include all the information required to be processed by the CNS. The standardized prescription model is available on the CNS website.
- Common pathologies: The CNS reimburses 70% of the cost, with the patient invoicing the remaining 30%.
Patients can claim the remaining 30% from their supplementary insurance.
The weekly frequency of respiratory physiotherapy sessions must be indicated, so that the prescription is enforceable against the health insurance company.
If travel expenses are prescribed, they are also reimbursed at 70%. - Post-surgical rehabilitation: Up to 32 sessions are reimbursed at 100% in the six months following surgery.
However, the maximum number of sessions covered by a medical prescription is 16.
The weekly frequency must be indicated if the prescription is to be accepted by the health insurance scheme.
If travel expenses are prescribed, they are also reimbursed at 100%. - Serious pathologies: Serious conditions such as hemiplegia, Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s are reimbursed at 100%, with a limit of 64 sessions per prescription.
If travel expenses are prescribed, they are also reimbursed at 100%.
Home physiotherapy sessions must be carried out by a physiotherapist approved by the CNS.
Mon Kiné’s home physiotherapists are qualified professionals specialized in home care throughout Luxembourg.

The prescription must be validated by the CNS within 30 days of being prescribed.
Validation consists in issuing a “titre de prise en charge”, which details the maximum duration of treatment, the number of sessions and the reimbursement rate.
During our first visit to your home, the physiotherapist will collect your prescription and send it to the CNS for validation.
If your prescription is more than 30 days old, it cannot be processed by our office.
In this case, we recommend that you contact your doctor to obtain a new, valid prescription.
